A Glenview, IL resident, Gregory Butz is the marketing vice president of Serta Hoffman Estates in Illinois. Gregory Butz lives in Saratoga Lane in Glenview and previously worked at Wire Stone. He enjoys listening to 80’s rock bands like Van Halen.
Van Halen was a rock band from the United States, formed in 1973 in Pasadena, California. Van Halen was noted for its dynamic live shows and the virtuoso ability of its lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, who is credited with bringing hard rock back to the forefront of the music world. In 2007, the group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 1978, the band's self-titled first album debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard pop music charts and sold over 10 million copies in the United States. By 1982, the band had released four additional albums, all of which had received multi-platinum certification. Van Halen had become one of the most popular rock bands in the early 1980s. The album 1984 was a huge success, with 10 million copies sold in the United States and four hit singles. The first song, Jump, was the band's only number one record in the United States. Based on Saratoga Lane in Glenview, IL, Gregory Butz is the vice president of marketing at Serta and the former vice president and managing director of Wire Stone, a digital marketing company in Chicago. Outside of his professional life, Gregory Butz is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County.

One of the organization’s community partners, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., held a fundraiser last fall to help support the ongoing efforts of the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County. Jack and Jill’s North Shore Chapter presented a check in February 2019 in the amount of $13,000 to the Boys & Girls Club. The funds will be used primarily to provide meals and snacks for the kids. An avid runner in his free time, Gregory Butz recently traveled from his Glenview, IL, home to compete in the 2018 Chicago Marathon. Sponsored by Bank of America and known formally as the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, the race is considered one of the world’s most prestigious races. The Chicago Marathon convened for the 41st time on October 7, 2018, when approximately 45,000 runners gathered in Grant Park for the annual event. Taking place on a damp and gray 58-degree day that saw intermittent rain, the race followed a flat route through 29 of the city’s neighborhoods. Elite runners in the field included American and defending champion Galen Rupp and Ethiopia’s Roza Dereje. Thousands of fans also lined the streets to cheer on the participants. By mid-morning, these spectators watched as 20-year-old Daniel Romanchuk of Champaign crossed the finish line to win the men’s wheelchair marathon. Following Romanchuk was Switzerland’s Manuela Schar, who ended a streak of near-victories to record her first Chicago women’s wheelchair championship. Later in the day, Britain’s Mo Farah added to a list of accomplishments, which includes four Olympic medals, when he won the men’s marathon. On the women’s side, Brigid Kosgei of Kenya improved on her second-place finish from 2017 to take first in the women’s race. |
